M2A Media grows its team of cloud video experts

Just in time for IBC, the broadcast technology event of the year, M2A Media has bolstered its growing team with key new hires.  Combining valuable experience in live OTT services, adaptive media delivery research, media management and business development, M2A Media is excited to welcome the following cloud video experts to the team.

Valentijn Siebrands, Solutions Architect

Valentijn Siebrands began his career in the radio business in 1991, moving to content management in 2000, and then to online video delivery in 2006. He has worked for RTL in the Netherlands running its delivery network and CDN, as well as the English Premier League in Australia together with Optus and Vimond.

Helping Netherlands’ largest commercial broadcaster build an end-to-end catch-up service without the use of external CDNs, Valentijn started developing live OTT services early on. He joined M2A Media this month as Solutions Architect, delivering projects for live global events.

David Evans, Solutions Architect

David Evans joins M2A from BBC Research & Development where his main focus was adaptive media delivery research, prototyping and standardisation – particularly around MPEG-DASH. David provided expert consultancy to the BBC, other UK PSBs and wider industry on best practice for deploying DASH at scale, as well as leading development and delivery of a number of world-first streaming trials.

As Solutions Architect at M2A, David will work with both sales and engineering teams to prove M2A solutions can meet customer needs, as well as providing expert knowledge in his specialist areas.

Hamish Muiry, Head of Sales

With years of experience in video technology and business development, Hamish Muiry now brings his expertise to head up sales at M2A. Previously at  Inverleigh Media Holdings Hamish built product value to grow the company’s presence in new markets. While at Imagen, he managed relationships with a number of high profile sports rights holders and sports federations.

As Head of Sales at M2A, Hamish will build the company’s sales team, instilling a customer-centric approach, to drive growth.

Cyndi Chung-Smith, Account Manager

Not an entirely new face at M2A, Cyndi Chung-Smith moved from the Operations team in August to an Account Manager role working closely with Head of Account Management, Guy Taylor.

Prior to joining M2A, Cyndi worked in live transmission at Red Bee Media as a Playout Director for the BBC, and Media Management Operator for BBC iPlayer prior to that. In her new role, Cyndi will assume management of a number of M2A’s client accounts from project inception to delivery.

Not only are we welcoming new faces to the team this IBC, we will also be launching our latest product, Dynamic Content Insertion (DCI).
