TECHNICAL ANALYST
The Role
At M2A Media we develop cloud-based software solutions used in the online video streaming platforms of some of the biggest broadcasters in the world, including DAZN, BBC, Channel4 and ITV.
Our work involves the technical handling, manipulation and delivery of top tier live sporting events such as the Champions League, Serie A, Moto GP and NFL to millions of viewers globally via ‘The Netflix of sport’, DAZN. If you’ve watched ‘Love Island’, ‘I’m a Celebrity’ or other live shows on ITV Hub it was delivered for catch-up by our Live Capture product at frame-level accuracy, within minutes, to record audiences.

As a Technical Analyst at M2A Media you will facilitate the flow of business and technical requirements to the development and test teams via technical analysis, writing user and technical stories, producing interface specifications and capturing configuration requirements. This role requires significant client stakeholder engagement and, as such, is suited to a Technical Analyst that is experienced, personable and able to work at different levels (from technical to exec) to understand business motivators, stated and hidden requirements.
Reports to: Head of Solutions Architecture
Base: London (travel may be required to customer/supplier sites)
What you’ll do
– Serve as the Technical Analyst on customer deployment projects, analysing customer requirements, defining onboarding configurations and custom integration software requirements – Identifying faults and issues and recommending appropriate paths to resolution, and fixing as appropriate within agreed SLAs.
– Manage the flow of user requirements from the product backlog to the planning meetings, providing a joined-up overall view of the solution requirements at a detailed level.
– Author high quality user stories, specify acceptance criteria and facilitate the translation of those criteria into test cases with the test team.– Managing, deploying and configuring the services which deliver content to the audience.
– Ensure that non-functional requirements are captured and agreed – Understanding, in depth, the business processes supported by the systems.
– You will act as the point of clarification for developers during requirements defuzz.
– You will review deployed features against the acceptance criteria.
– You will interface to the technical and solution architects to ensure the user stories are feasible and inline with the strategic architecture.
– You will interface with product management to provide detailed input into customer driven product feature specifications.
– You will be the go-to-expert for deployed customer configurations.
– Collaborate with product owner / stakeholders on backlog prioritization and selecting stories for development sprints.
– Provide training on deployed system usage to M2A Operators and customer teams
Key Relationships
– Reports to M2A’s Head of Solution Architecture.
– Receives work prioritization from and reports progress to Project Managers
– Briefs work into the M2A Solutions Engineering teams
What you’ll bring
Required
– You will have a strong analysis background, with at least 2 years spent working within agile methodologies/environments and with agile software development teams.
– Experience of writing user stories, acceptance criteria and communicating these to software development teams.
– Knowledge of SDLC in an agile environment and tools such as Jira.
– Analytical mindset.
– High level of attention to detail and precision.
– Proven experience of logical data modelling and data analysis.
– Excellent communication skills – ability to make yourself understood to non-technical customers, or customers with a different area of technical expertise.
– Experience of working in an environment where products have to be delivered to specific time-scales.
– Strong organisational skills.
Personal Attributes
You’ll have
– An understanding of video workflows – Live and VOD.
– An understanding of video advertising workflows.
– A basic understanding of HLS, MPEG Dash, MPEG Transport Streams, H.264, AAC.
– Working knowledge of scripting languages such as python.
– Familiarity with AWS core products such as EC2, Lambda, dynamoDB, IAM and the AWS console.

Salary range: £25,000-£40,000
